About Shinagawa Refractories

Liaoning Shinagawa Hefeng Metallurgical Material is a subsidiary of Shinagawa Refractories Co., Ltd, one of the leading global supplier of refractory solutions. Shinagawa Refractories has its roots in Shinagawa Shirorenga, with a history of more than 145 years since its establishment in 1875.

In 2009, Shinagawa Shirorenga merged with JFE Refractories, and the name of the company was changed to Shinagawa Refractories. Headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, the company is listed on the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. The company has six manufacturing plants and global R&D center in Japan, and its overseas subsidiaries cover China, Oceania, the ASEAN region, Americas and India.

Shinagawa started manufacturing mold powders in 1971. For over 50 years, the company has provided quality mold powders for various casting conditions and different types of steel casters. Continuous development and improvement of mold powders has always supported stable production of high-quality steel and contributed to the advancement of continuous casting technology. With its 50 years of experience and cutting-edge technology, Shinagawa has achieved the highest global standard.

For mold powders business, Shinagawa currently has four manufacturing plants: one in Japan, two in China, and one in the US. Shinagawa has a market share of over 40% in Japan, and in the year 2020, Shinagawa group companies has delivered about 40,000 tons of mold powders to the customers worldwide.
